Think Global and Act Local - Joining Forces in Theory and Practice!
The Department of Social Work, Linnaeus University Sweden, Welcome you to the International Week in Kalmar and Växjö! The International Week will focus on bringing together experiences and initiatives for developing Theory in Practice from our Partner Universities and local NGO´s working with our Swedish students in Peru, India, Israel and Palestine. The International Week is part of a development work within our Social Work Education and will inspire students, lecturers and social workers from the field to Think Global and Act Local!
Some of our guests will join us as part of Linnaeus Palme Exchange Programs (National University San Agustín in Peru and H.N.B.G. University in India), and some will join us as representatives for local NGO´s working with Swedish students during their Practical Internship Program (KAUSAY and PAN in Peru, Laylac in Palestine, HIMAD Samiti in India and Ossim Shalom in Israel). Some will join us for the purpose of networking and inspiration.
During the week, you will be presented to both campus Kalmar and campus Växjö. We will introduce you to Social Work and Social Services in the Swedish context and compare realities and challenges in education and practice in our respective countries. We will share experiences and discuss possible collaborations between our Universities and the local NGO´s, in a joint mission to form active and critical social workers for the future.
